Week 1 from the Provo MTC

MY P-DAY IS MONDAY JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS!
My first week has been nothing short of amazing. The spirit I have felt is amazing and my testimony has grown so much already.

Wednesday was a whirlwind and crazy. You had to keep moving from thing to thing with no rest or relaxation. That was hard for me to get used to because I was really lazy at home haha. My companions name is Elder Souza and he is from Las Vegas. He is really spiritual and a good teacher to me. I have learned so much here already. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were filled with class for 10 or so hours, eating food, and sleeping. The sleeping schedule is also very hard for me to get use too.

Saturday Night me and my companion had the opportunity to teach an "investigator" it was a member of the church but, they acted like a investigator and asked us hard questions and really pushed us. It was an amazing experience and I learned for a fact that you need to teach with and have the spirit with you or you will not be able to touch and change the hearts of your investigators.

Yesterday was a truly spiritual testimony of how the church is true. We had a Sunday night devotional where Chad Lewis the former BYU tight end spoke. He shared some great experiences. Also in that devotional Taysom Hill, the quarterback for BYU that has had his career ended because of injures shared his testimony about serving a mission. I felt the spirit so strong and he said " You will NEVER do anything in your life more important than serving a mission, you owe it to the Lord and your family". I will never forget that. We also heard a talk by Elder Bednar which he gave in 2011. It was one of the most powerful talks I have ever heard. He taught about the character of Christ and how the natural man turns inward, and is selfish, and Christ turned outward in compassion and kindness to others no matter what happened to him. He also shared that being converted is different than having a testimony. I totally agree. I have also been able to see Elder Brock Thomas, one of my best friends a lot and that has been a huge blessing for me also.

I am so grateful for all of your support and all the personal emails.
Until next week.
Love, Elder Sirrine
